WikiBotanicals has features reserved for admins ---particularly, managing user rights and blocking users. Administrators, or admins/ sysops (system operators), are WikiBotanicals editors who have access to these special features and help with maintenance and management of the site. WikiBotanicals practice is to grant administrator status to anyone who has been an active and regular contributor, is familiar with and respects WikiBotanicals policy, who has gained the trust of the community, and maintains a positive e-commerce record with WikiSafe.
Admins/Sysops can undo edits, protect and delete pages, and block users. Administrator responsibilities are undertaken on a voluntary basis, and are not employees of WikiCollectables Inc. Administrators are not a special subgroup of the WikiBotanicals community but are a part of the community like anyone else. Generally, the maintenance and administration of WikiBotanicals can be conducted by anyone, without the specific technical functions granted to administrators. While the tools granted to administrators are technical, they do not convey authority per se, administrators are entrusted users.
Because administrators are expected to be experienced users, other users may turn to an administrator for advice and information, or to settle a dispute. In general, administrators acting in this role are neutral; they should not have direct involvement in the issues. There are no official requirements to becoming a WikiBotanicals administrator. Anybody can apply regardless of experience. Use this page's 'discussion' page to discuss becoming an administrator.
